Informative Note | Changes in Consumer Laws

Law No. 10/2023, of March 3, completed the transposition of Directive (EU) 2019/2161, on consumer protection and amended several legal diplomas in terms of consumption, namely: (i) the legal framework for general contractual clauses, (ii) legal framework for presenting sales prices to consumers in retail sales, (iii) the framework that regulates commercial practices with price reductions in retail sales (better known as the Law of Balances , Promotions and Liquidations), (iv) the regime applicable to unfair commercial practices and (v) the legal regime for distance and off-premises contracting.
