TELLES opened its doors to the DNA of a Jurist Bootcamp from Catholic University of Porto dedicated to Renewable Energies

TELLES opened its doors to a group of students from the Porto School of the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University who participated in the 2nd edition of the DNA of a Jurist Bootcamp, in which they were challenged to think critically about a real case in the field of renewable energies.

With this initiative, the future generation of lawyers had the opportunity to address a real and current issue, energy poverty. The big question on the table was the following: since energy poverty in Europe is defined as inefficient use of energy (houses without insulation and inefficient equipment) and the inability to pay for energy; energy being an essential asset for life in the 21st century; How to solve? How to bring clean energy to everyone?

The 20 students were divided into four teams, consisting of five elements, and duly accompanied by TELLES' lawyers, Ivone Rocha, head partner of the Environment and Climate Change area of practice at TELLES, and Luísa Vilas Boas, associate in the same area, and by Joana Telles de Abreu, partner in the Commercial, Corporate M&A area of practice at TELLES, and António Palma Nogueira, associate in the same area.

The winning team was invited to participate in the presentation and public discussion of the contractual model developed by TELLES, within the scope of the PEER project (Porto Energy ElevatoR).

Looking into the future, TELLES maintains its focus on creating added value for society, supporting initiatives that promote knowledge and the development of innovative solutions to the challenges of global society. It is increasingly important to invest in training and bringing the new generation of future lawyers closer to the job market. With this initiative, law students from the Catholic University of Porto learned a little about the dynamics of a large law firm, where they worked alongside partners and lawyers from TELLES.
