Informative Note | New EU Competition Regulation on Vertical Agreements

The European Commission (“EC”) adopted, on May 10, the new Vertical Category Exemption Regulation (“VBER”), accompanied by new guidelines, which will enter into force on June 1, 2022. Updated VBER rules provide companies with simpler and clearer guidelines for assessing the compatibility of their vertical agreements, such as supply and distribution, with EU competition rules.
