Informative Note | Data transfers from the European Union to the United States

On October 7, 2022, US President Joe Biden issued an “Executive Order”, which aims to regulate data transfers from the European Union to the United States. This new legal framework is intended to respond to the questions raised by the Court of Justice of the European Union in the famous “Schrems II” ruling, which invalidated the data transfer agreement in force between the EU and the US (Privacy Shield).
