Green Briefing | Environmental Simplex

Decree-law n.º 11/2023 was published, which introduces reforms and simplifications of environmental licensing, known as “Environmental Simplex”.

The purpose of this decree-law is to reduce burdens and simplify administrative procedures on companies, with regard to environmental licensing, eliminating licenses, authorizations, and procedures that are dispensable or redundant in view of the protection of environmental resources.

For this purpose, changes and updates were introduced with regard to matters such as Environmental Impact Assessment, environmental licensing, water resources, and administrative procedure.
