TELLES provided legal advice on the creation of ENNO – Energias do Norte, the largest renewable energy community (REC) on the Iberian Peninsula, which was promoted by LIPOR and its associated municipalities.
A total of 28 entities and around 9,000 consumer facilities will now receive energy produced from waste recovery. This is an example of the circular economy, decarbonisation, and the proximity of energy production to consumption.
Ivone Rocha, partner and head of the Energy & Natural Resources practice at TELLES, led the project, supported by associates Luísa Vilas Boas and Rui Vasconcelos Pinto. The TELLES team oversaw the entire legal process of establishing this project and Energy Community.
ENNO is a milestone in the national energy transition, contributing to the energy benchmark and promoting an innovative model for producing and sharing renewable energy.
